Before the space program came to Huntsville area the city had mill roots. Dallas, Lincoln, Merrimac and Lowe were the main cotton mills. Each of these sections of operated as a community ,sometimes out of the city limits of Huntsville. These mills were rich in history. I graciously thank the contributors of these pictures and especially the Rison-Dallas Association for these pictures on this site. Please check out the Rison-Dallas Website. It is an excellent presentation of that area(Rison-Dallas pictures used by permission)
